Seniors vs Rutherglen Match Report:

This week it was good to get some players back from the injury list but more importantly get some match fitness back into there bodies. The first five minutes of the game we were on top and should of been 4-5 goals up but we failed to capatilise on our chances and kept them in the game. From that point on it was all Rutherglen as they completely dominated in every area of the game for the first half as we continue to fall back into bad habits with poor ball use and work rate from the contest. It seems to be a tail of two half's at the moment as our 2nd half seems to be our strength at the moment. We were a completely different side as our ball use and execution around the ground is what we strive for at a consistent basis. Our best and worst seem to be an extremely large gap at the moment but we know our best is good enough and we will continue to work hard and close the gap between that.

Goals: B. St John 2, L. Verbaan-Fletcher, J. Cooksey, T. Allan.

Best: J. Anderson-Clarke, M. Horner, Z. Pleming, B. St John, J. Montgomery, L. Hawkins.

Reserves vs Rutherglen

After the last couple of weeks it was good to start getting players back on the field.

The first quarter was an arm wrestle with neither side showing any signs of brilliance, finishing the quarter with only the one major each.

In the second we came out and started to impact on the scoreboard scoring 5 goals to their 2.

We looked great when we chipped the ball around and played the way we train but still wanted to sit the footy on blokes heads on occassions which really let us down.

We still didnt seem to get out of second gear and looked to ha e a lot left in the tank.

The second half was a lot more settled, Dimma and Webb were electric, Brom had the mids firing (we missed him the last 2 weeks), Caddy had our forwards killing it with Dimma and Bazz kicking 7 between them and Reid and Dubes were inspirational down back cleaning up everything with Walton stepping up as well.

Still need to play a full quarter every quarter and have a few things still to work on to get to the next level.

Overall a fantastic team effort with everyone contributing and playing their role but special mention to the guys that really stood up to cement their spots, you know who you are !!

Goals: T. Dempsey 4, E. Barry 3, A. Walsh, T. Rowney, D. Brom, C. Cooper, G. Cadman

Best Players: T. Dempsey, E. Barry, B. Webb, A. Walsh, C. Reid, H. Witt

Midgets

Our midgets continue to go from strength to strength each week. This week our focus was improving our timing and space on the court and their hard work at training showed in this week's game. Our awards went to Amity for another strong game in Wing Defence taking some intercepts, Tilly Smith for fantastic work in her positioning down the court and Ajla Grubisa for strong drives and passing in the ring for her first game in Goal Shooter.

Under 13’s

Yet again, the girls had a solid win against their opponents. With a great end result of 44:1, you couldn't tell from the final score, but the Rutherglen girls played a tough game, and the Saints had to really tap into their training to have such an impressive win. It was great to hear all of the voices on the court, and to see the girls encourage each other - it makes me so proud as a coach to see them coming together as a team. Keep up the good work girls, we are in for some tough games coming up, and we need to stay sharp and focussed! Best on Court - Emily Dudley (Effie's Take-Away Voucher), 2nd Best on Court - Charlee Bradsworth-Kerr (Rock & Roll Roast Voucher, 3rd Best on Court - Zoe McFarlane (Saints Canteen Voucher)

Under 15’s

The girls had a solid win today 98-3 worked well throughout the court and moved around the circle with ease. Giving the girls the opportunity the switch through positions they haven’t played.

Under 18’s

Congrats to the girls for another amazing week of netball. A strong team win against Rutherglen. We changed up our side to allow those who haven’t got much court time and they all played amazing! Kaiden worked strong in WD and Charlotte Lee got her first gig on court after working hard at training and demolished the goal shooter position with great accuracy and confidence. We have a great versatile side and we work hard. Tough game today against Barnawartha, but we are keen for the win.

C Grade

At the end of the 1st quarter we were trailing behind by 6. Into the 2nd the girls were fired up ready to give it their all. They played an amazing quarter and at half time we were 1 goal in front which they continued to build on to end up winning by 11. Very proud of the team work, the support they give each other and the never give up attitude of these ladies. What a wonderful team to coach. Best on went to Adrianne for her effort in goals and Urban Graze went to E who worked hard in mid court and feeding to the shooters. Special mention to our defenders Alex, Sarah and Shynae for their work in the circle.

B Grade

A stellar performance from Saints this week. We displayed our strength, right across the court. From strong defensive pressure to outstanding drives in attack. Each player stepped up and gave 150%. Best on went to Romni Feltwell, who played an amazing game in GA. Second award went to Tori Wright, who made a huge impact in attack. Third award went to Kaly Smith for her defensive pressure and talk.

A Grade

A nail biter of a game this weekend and injuries to boot. But a wins a win and it wasn’t till the last quarter when things settled. With our mid court player Mathilda coming off after a head knock in the second quarter and a trip to hospital with concussion. This left the side with 8. Going into the last quarter up by one meant we needed to work hard in the last quarter and start to convert the work our defence end were doing. With another head knock took Danielle our GA out of the game meant we needed to make changes in the ring which thankfully worked for us. Thanks to our B grade player ( Tori Wright) who fed the gaoler’s beautifully and stepped up into the roll seamlessly. Best on court this week went to our defender Keely Heron who works so hard in defence and brings the ball down the court beautifully. And Second went to Gina Skinner who fed the gaoler’s and hit the circle herself.
