Congratulations to Zack Pleming on becoming our Senior Football Coach for 2021

A little about Zach..... Zach started playing senior football at the age of 16 under Nic Conway at Mitta United. Zach went on to play senior football at Mitta United for a further three years under successful coaches in Phil Packer and Clinton Gilson.

Zach then transitioned to Wodonga Raiders in the Ovens & Murray in 2014, where Zach played for 3 years - one under Simon Bone and two years under Darren Cresswell with his last year (2016) at Wodonga Raiders being his most successful from a personal standpoint.

Zach then joined the Saints in 2017 as an assistant playing coach with Senior Coach Troy Vennix for two years.

We wish Zack all the best for 2021

Congratulation to Gina Skinner on being appointed ‘A’ Grade Netball Coach for the up and coming 2021 season!

She has previously coached – A Grade, B Grade, U18’s, U16’s Development Squad and U13’s! And currently coaches a Wodonga Rep. team.

U/17's coach appointment Cameron Middleton!

A little about Cameron Middleton

I have been a teacher for the past 13 years. During this time, I have taught at schools in both Queensland and Victoria. I spent the first 8 years teaching Primary School and the last 5 years teach at Middle Years College in Wodonga. I shifted to the area in 2011 and love living here.

I played for Wodonga Saints for 3 years in reserves and believe the time is right to give back to the club. I see it as a privilege that I am part of a team and a club that gave me a chance to finish playing in my mid-forties.

My footy “career” started when I was a young 18-year-old playing for Yeoman in Tasmania in the Darwin Football League. From there I moved to the Gold Coast and played for Labrador in the Gold Coast Football League where I was lucky enough to win a reserve grade premiership.

I had a few years away from the game due to work commitments but got back into playing again around 2005 in the Hervey Bay area. I played reserves for Hervey Bay Bombers and seniors for Maryborough Bears. I was involved in the Maryborough Bears team that won their first game in four years as a player/coach. That was my first taste of coaching and enjoyed it but still had a desire to play which ended up in me playing for the Saints.

After three years playing for the saints, I took time away from the game to concentrate on work. I am excited to be back at the club and hopefully use my life experience to be a mentor and coach to the younger members of the club.

U/14's coaching appointment Scott McDonald!

I played in three flags as a under 18 player for Wagga Tigers then played in 3 flags for Kiewa Sandy Creek reserves.

I played cricket up until last season and it is time for me to start my coaching career at junior level, hoping to teach young kids the fundamentals of playing football and teach them to have fun along the way.

I am looking forward to the 2021 season with the Saints and know it will be a great season for our juniors.

13's junior netball coach - Cassie Van Malsem

I am a mum to 3 girls - 17 years (Baylee), 15 years (Kaiden) and 12 years old (Piper). I grew up playing for Mulwala Lions back in the day, and have passed on my love of netball to all three of my girls.

I have coached on various levels of junior netball for the past 12 years, ranging from Net-Set-Go age, Mitta Midgets last year, and various teams at both Kelly Park and the Leisure Centre for all 3 kids. I have also worked alongside rep coaches with Piper for the past 3 years in the role of manager or just as a general parent helper.

I am employed in the welfare sector and for the past 20 years have worked to assist children and young people.

I have good connections to the Saints football club members and look forward to the 2021 season.

2021 Reserves Coach - Troy Vennix

I Played most of my footy for Mooroolbark FC where after winning 4 premierships in a row as well as an u/18 league B & F spent time with the Carlton FC and Port Melbourne (VFA). Playing alongside Sam Mitchell, Matty Allen, Mathew Bischop and many others was the greatest highlight of my playing career. Moving to Wodonga 12 yrs ago had me find a passion for coaching, when I stumbled across a club that was struggling (ours) to field competitive sides and I wanted to do everything I could to help. Now having coached every level except 3rds at our club I am excited to support and assist Zack Pleming in his senior coaching debut, a goal we had set a few years ago. 2021 for me is like the final chapter, all goals set years ago are right there, the list is strong and now is the time to see what so many have worked so hard to achieve. Our club has come so far and the journey been so fantastic I can't wait to take it to the next level. Love my Saints family and am so excited about our future.
