The girls showed this week just how far they have come, only going down to last years grand final team by 14. A few errors along the way put the girls on the back foot early, but once settled they showed just how dangerous they will be this year! Jess McAliece was once again brilliant through the midcourt, feeding the goalers beautifully. Dani Tymensen was a shooting machine, bombing them from everywhere.
Kayla was a rock in defence, working hard against very tough and tall Lions shooters.
With a weeks break we will head into round 3 fresh and ready to take on Tallangatta!
Wodonga Saints towel (best on)- Jess McAliece

Wow what a game we were up by half time with a fantastic lead. It was exciting.. then damn they came back then lead for a little and we fought back till the end. Best on court went to Sarah potter who shot for everywhere and was unstoppable. Muffin break went to Melissa Mcfarlane who gave it her all, was all over court feeding the goalers like the bomb.. and urban graze award went to Sheridan Barton who just broke their goalers down. Fabulous day for the girls.
Rd 2 Wodonga Saints 33 def Wahgunyah 26
C Grade came out of the blocks firing this week, with the girls taking a 5 goal lead within the first 10 mins.
The last 5 minutes of the first quarter saw the girls lose a little focus and Wahgunyah seized the opportunity to level the game at quarter time.
Alex Hibberson stood tall in defence in the second quarter with her positioning under the ring not allowing Wahgunyah any chances on their rebounds. Great work Alex!
Emily Williamson again lead through the mid court providing our shooters with some great feeds into the ring and options around the circle
The game became quite physical for our shooters in the third quarter with Lisa Holley taking a nasty fall which saw her leave the court with a concussion. Wishing you as speedy recovery Lisa
A credit to all the girls for a physically hard fought win!!
A huge thank you to Emily Ayton for stepping up from the under 18’s and contributing on the day.
Wodonga Saints Hand towel – Alex Hibberson, JMC bronzed bodies – Emily Williamson, Muffin break – Lisa Holley.

Wow the nerves were still there st the start of the game and the girls took a little to warm into the game.. playing last years runners up showed the girls where they needed to get to.. they kept the girls through the middle of the game and didn’t allow them to lead out much further..effies award goes to Emily Ayton. Great lengths hairdressing went to Alicia Anderson and urban grace went to Tahlia Anthony. Well done girls

Another game done and dusted! Well done to everyone on a hard-fought win. We all know it did not come easy and we now know what we have to work on, to help improve our game play when under pressure. Again, Stella performance by Kytlee in both attacking and defence end, and good defence from our duo of Shelby and Chloe. Great team work to all! Keep it going girls! train hard – play hard – have fun!
